PUBLIC MOSAICS

My public mosaics were commissions for specific pieces for specific sites, some of them for playgrounds.  I assumed that ceramic tiles with their durable colors and weatherproof surfaces would last well in public venues.  I had not reckoned with the threat of gratuitous vandalism, the lack of civic maintenance, and other perils to art in the public  realm.  So while several of the works shown here are no longer to be found where I placed them, they live on in the virtual world.
