JACK-JACK     1998

Picture
Jack-Jack   13" x 18"
There is a reason for the very small size of this mosaic: Ruth and I were planning to visit our son Michael (aka Freddie) in London, and I wanted to make him a mosaic for his new home as a house-warming gift.  The piece had to fit into our carry-on suitcase, and this determined the size.

As it turned out, Ruth became ill and we never did go to London, but Freddie and his wife Jane now have the mosaic in their house in California.  They were the ones who named the little guy Jack-Jack, after Jack the Ripper whose grizzly career took place near their London home in Whitechapel.  What's in a name... I made the image thinking of a defensive posture coach Freddie taught the kids on his high school basketball team.
